Our Employees

At Heart & Hands, our success is rooted in the wonderful employees we have on our team. Since 2005, we have committed to offering quality, consistent, and compassionate care to our patients, which starts and ends with our caregivers. Our employees are what makes our company great. We do not have a “cookie-cutter” approach to hiring. Our goal is to bring in qualified caregivers to want to offer empathic care. Many times, other agencies may want caregivers to be of a specific age or experience. At Heart & Hands, we have caregivers ranging from an 18-year-old fresh out of CNA school to a 70-year-old who is a great conversationalist and everything in-between. Each one of them uniquely caring for their patients.

When you work at Heart & Hands, you will be provided comprehensive training on caring for a client’s needs most successfully. This is accomplished through eight hours of classroom training. In this training session, you will cover:

  • Responsibilities and Confidentiality
  • Communication
  • Observation, Reporting, and Documentation
  • Basic Needs and Bathing
  • Personal Care
  • Toileting
  • Feeding, Ambulation, and Transfers
  • Hygiene and Infection Control
  • Maintenance of Clean, Safe and Healthy Environment
  • Safety and Emergencies
  • Abuse and Neglect

You will also be empowered to complete Annual Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Training. In this training, you will:

  • Describe Dementia
  • Review Parts of the Brain Damaged by the Disease
  • Review the Stages of Alzheimer’s
  • Discuss Communication Strategies of Alzheimer’s/Dementia Patients
  • Discuss the Causes of Behavior with Dementia
  • Describe Behavior Changes and Resistance to Care
  • Explain the Need for an Activity Schedule and Routine
  • Discuss How to Create A Safe Environment

In addition to classroom training, new caregivers will also receive in-home/in-facility training. The amount of time spent training on location is dependent on client and caregiver needs. We will never leave a client/caregiver alone until all parties are comfortable and care expectations are met.

Our management team will mold you into one of our expert, compassionate caregivers. Are you interested in joining our team? Apply today!
